Can a student apply for UG/PG program in absence of 12th/Graduation final year result?

Yes, a student may apply provisionally for any course but needs to produce all the original mark sheets/ degrees at the time of Admission. However, for a PG Program aspirant, 30th August is the last date for submission of original mark sheet.

How many applications form one can fill while applying to various programs?

An applicant can apply to as many programs in SVGOI as desired but cannot apply for the same program more than once in one admission year.

What is the selection criteria in SVGOI campus?

The selection procedure comprises of an English language test followed by GD/Personal interview. Program based written test/creative/physical test is conducted wherever necessary.

What all documents one need to carry on the date of selection/registration?

A student needs to carry all the mark sheets as well as essential credentials in original.

What system of education is followed at SVGOI Campus?

SVGOI follows semester system which is in conformity with the global practices and standards. Students are required to maintain minimum SGPA (Semester Grade Point Average) & CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point average) to get promoted to the next semester and qualify for Degree/Diploma.

What is the attendance requirement and when is the attendance calculated from?

A minimum of 75% attendance is required to appear in the examinations. Attendance of a student is calculated from the date of commencement of program or date of fee payment (whichever is later).

What are the fee payment options available?

For fee payment you may either avail net banking/PAYTEM or make the payment at any UBI branch with cash/DD.

What are the Scholarship schemes?

SVGOI Scholarships are instituted to help those who are brilliant in academics and deserve world class education but don’t have the required means. Diverse Scholarships offered at SVGOI are: • On Admission Merit Scholarship • Sports Scholarship

What is on campus placement criteria?

SVGOI assures 100% placement assistance. In order to be eligible for the recruitment process, every student is required to achieve a minimum of 6 on a 10 point scale.

Is hostel facility available in SVGOI?

Yes, SVGOI offers comprehensive hostel (AC and Non AC) facilities for boys and girls separately within the campus. Due to limited seats, hostel accommodation is not offered to applicants who are living nearby areas.

Does SVGOI offer assistance in availing Education Loan?

At SVGOI, financial limitations cannot be allowed to restrict career dreams. In view of that, the institution has tied up with premier banks to offer easy Education Loans to selected students.

Is there any transportation facility for day scholars?

Yes, we offer bus service, which covers maximum part of Patiala District and Chandigarh. For detailed information on routes followed and bus fare, you are requested to contact at 78373-00473/94652-33333.

What are the withdrawal guidelines for the academics?

Refund will be done as per the UGC norms. Application for withdrawal from the program/college is to be submitted offline through notary attested affidavit. How many Companies usually visit the campus during Campus Placements?

Number of Companies visiting the campus for final placement each year is around 80-90. Last year 50 companies visited SVGOI for final placement.

What is the help extended to the students for placements?

The placement team facilitates the students throughout the year with different activities. The students are exposed to experts from the industry who enlighten them and polish their skills according to the industry. The students are provided with company specific workshops and online aptitude tests to sharpen their logical and analytical skills before the placement processes. Mock GD and PI sessions are also held for the students to facilitate them in the preparation for the final interviews.

When does the Placement Activity begin?

The final placement season starts from the month of October every year and ends by February. Summer Internship selection process starts in the month of February and ends by mid April.
