CIVIL ENGINEERING PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The civil engineering program develops students into capable civil engineering graduates by imparting appropriate high-quality education in Civil Engineering so that they could be readily adapted by the service sector to meet the challenges faced by the Nation. The program strives for excellence in engineering education and profession. It also aims to promote all-round development of the personality of students by suitably involving them in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.

SCOPE OF COURSE

The main scope of Civil Engineering or the task of Civil Engineering is planning, designing, estimating, supervising construction, managing construction, execution, and maintenance of structures like buildings, roads, bridges, dams, etc.

One who designs and maintains works of public utility is known as Civil Engineer.

Scope of Civil Engineering in Private Sector

After getting the required qualification, students can go abroad to work in multinational companies in the USA, Singapore, and UAE, where they can obtain technologically advanced learning and experience. The salary expectations after degree vary from institutes to job locations and also depends on the skills of the individual.

The average salary of a Civil Engineer at entry-level in India is 3 lac p.a.

A person who wishes to travel to the USA for a better package can score up to 18 lakhs per annum and in Singapore, up to 12 lakhs per annum.

Scope of Civil Engineering in Govt. Sector

Govt. PSUs often have many positions to work around the country with job security and other benefits. One can also apply to work for the Indian Army or Indian Air Force. The same will give you additional rewards for being in the armed forces. 

Higher Education after B.Tech. in Civil Engineering 

If you want to pursue higher education, you should appear for postgraduate entrance exams like GATE, LPUNEST, PGEE, etc. and get admission in M.Tech. You can also choose an MBA if you want to get into operations, which will widen the scope of your civil engineering career.

  • 10th and 12th in non medical with atleast 45% in Physics,Chemistry,Math or medical with Math with atleast 45% and for reserved category minimum 40% in Physics,Chemistry,Math or medical with Math with atleast 40%

Eligibility For Leet Course

10th with one OR two year ITI and two Year diploma in any stream with minimum 45% and for SC 40% OR 10th and 12th in non medical /Medical with two Year diploma in any stream with minimum 45% and for SC 40% OR 10th with three Year diploma in any stream with minimum 45% and for SC 40% with gap certificate if student has any gap after last qualification and Migration
